Helping Students with ADHD and Executive Functioning Challenges Thrive in College
The ACCESS Program (Accessing Campus Connections and Empowering Student Success) is an evidence-based psychoeducational program that affords students with the skills they need to succeed in college and beyond.
ACCESS is an 8-week, small-group program facilitated by ADHD experts. Meetings occur once a week for 90 minutes via Zoom. Using cognitive-behavioral principles, each session includes 3 core components:
(1) Developmentally appropriate knowledge and research-based information about the ADHD brain and executive functioning challenges.
(2) Specific skills and strategies targeting a variety of executive functioning challenges (e.g., organization, time management, planning, managing distractions) across major life areas, including academics, interpersonal relationships, and managing daily life tasks.
(3) Identifying and improving unhelpful thinking patterns that can contribute to ADHD-related difficulties.
Throughout the program, students are also educated about, and empowered to utilize, various support services on- and off-campus to further promote their success alongside the ACCESS program.
Disclaimer: ACCESS is not considered psychotherapy. Instead, it is a psychoeducational program that uses a structured curriculum to create a common learning experience. Within the program, students have the flexibility to choose the skills and resources that best suit their needs. ACCESS does not: conduct testing, assessments, or evaluations; determine diagnostic status; or focus on symptom reduction to improve functional impairments. Individuals needing psychotherapy services are encouraged to seek assistance from licensed medical and mental health professionals.
How to enroll?
FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS
The ACCESS program will be available in the fall 2026 semester on a rolling basis. Exact start dates will be determined when groups reach capacity (i.e., between 5-10 students). Meetings are 90 minutes and meet at a consistent day/time over the course of 8 weeks, on a semester basis (fall, spring, and summer). We avoid meeting over school breaks and holidays whenever possible. We will do our best to establish a consistent day/time that works for all interested students.
